Overlooking Bradford from its lofty vantage point, Foxhill Primary School is the highest school in England; from our playground, there are inspiring views over the industrial city of Bradford and beyond, to the distant moors. Our children are incredibly robust, thriving in our wonderful yorkshire landscape and weather! We recognise and embrace the vital role that play has in their development, fostering resilience, creativity and social skills. Our children become explorers, engineers, designers, problem solvers, actors and musicians whilst emerged in their learning inside and outside the classroom. At Foxhill, our curriculum is designed to ignite a lifelong passion for learning, nurturing inquisitive minds. Rooted in our core values of excellence, inclusivity, and enjoyment, our curriculum aims to:

Inspire a Love for Learning: We aspire to create a purposeful learning environment where children are excited to explore, question, and discover. By offering a diverse range of stimulating experiences and opportunities, we aim to instil a genuine love for learning that goes beyond the classroom. The cumulative nature of our curriculum opens doors into the next stage of learning from EYFS to Year 6.

Promote Personal Growth and Well-being: Our whole school approach promotes positive behaviour, mental health, well being, resilience and achievement. Underpinning our curriculum are the SCARF values of safety, caring, achievement, resilience and friendship.

Celebrate Diversity and Inclusivity: Embracing diversity is at the heart of our curriculum. We celebrate differences, promote understanding, and create an environment where every voice is valued and respected.

Forge Meaningful Connections: We believe in a coherent curriculum, which connects prior learning, linking learning to real-life experiences and the wider community.

Empower Lifelong Learners: Our ultimate goal is to empower our pupils to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. By nurturing their curiosity, resilience, and adaptability, we aim to instil a passion for discovery that extends far beyond their time at Foxhill. Through our carefully crafted curriculum, we strive to ignite a spark in each child, empowering them to- embark on a journey of continuous learning, growth, and fulfilment. We aim to inspire and instil in our children, an eagerness to reach out to that wider world they can see from the classroom window.
Our curriculum builds on big ideas and concepts so that children have the knowledge and skills to look wider than their immediate context and make different, aspirational choices. We are delighted to be working with Unity Schools Partnership and have adopted their curriculum known as CUSP (Curriculum with Unity Schools Partnership) which is underpinned by the very latest research evidence from education and the field of cognitive science.

The big ideas are not taught in isolation but have been deliberately woven into the whole curriculum so that children can understand the world around them and crucially prepare them for living in modern Britain.
